A Guide to Not One, But Two Gourmet Grilled Cheeses

Trust us: Just one bite of these ultra crunchy, gooey, gourmet grilled cheeses will make you never want a regular grilled cheese ever again.

The Grown-Up Raclette Grilled Cheese

It goes without saying that the main ingredients to a grilled cheese are bread and, well, cheese. That said, it’s what you do with— and to — these components is what really elevates the sandwich.

First, spread one side of two pieces of bread with a little bit of mayonnaise. Our crispy Ciabatta Sandwich Bread is ideal for this step.

Place the bread slices on a work surface, crust side down. Top one piece with three slices of Raclette Cheese, a slightly nutty fromage that’s best quality is the way it melts. On top of the cheese, layer some veggies, preferably: thinly sliced tomatoes or red peppers. Then, sprinkle on some salt and black pepper, and lay on three more slices of the Raclette. Close the sandwich.

Once the grilled cheese is ready to go, butter up a pan or skillet (note: use 2 tablespoons of butter) and place the sandwich mayonnaise side down onto the grill pan. Cook until golden, about 3 minutes, and repeat the process on the other side of the sandwich. Voila!

The Sweet & Savory Grilled Cheese

Fancy yourself a more sweet and savory snack? Well then this grilled cheese is just for you.

To begin, spread one side of two pieces of sourdough bread with a little bit of mayonnaise. Place the bread slices on a work surface, crust side down. Afterward, generously spread Strawberry Preserves on both pieces of bread. If you’re not a fan of strawberry, feel free to opt for Fig or Cherry.

After the preserves have been spread, top one piece of bread with three slices of Brie Cheese, a runny, creamy fromage with a strong earthy aroma. Close the sandwich.

Once the grilled cheese is ready to go, a pan or skillet (note: use 2 tablespoons of butter) and place the sandwich mayonnaise side down onto the grill pan. Cook until golden, about 3 minutes, and repeat the process on the other side of the sandwich. Enjoy!
